1-pin sights?

taylorman_55 Joined: 02/24/2010 Location: ND	Anyone shoot using just one pin? Im looking at getting a 1-pin sight. Will never be taking a shot past 40 yards, with 99% chance of all shots coming 15 - 30. Any 1-pins you like/dislike? Suggestions? Appreciate it. Taylorman

buckmaster Joined: 12/16/2001 Location: ND	I have a single pin on my 3-d bow it is a Montana black gold ascent I love the sight but I haven't hunted with one. I have the same sight on my hunting bow but I have 4 pins sighted at 20-30-40-50 then I use the bottom pin for going out to 90yds. Just slide the slider to marks for 60-70-80-90. Seems to work well if I have to shoot past 50 I will need to range anyway. If you shoot a fast enough bow you could use a single pin and set it for 25the and you should be 2" up or down to 30 yds or 15yds
	You can't shoot the big ones if you shoot the little ones!

kdm Joined: 09/05/2008 Location: ND	I shoot one pin. Not because I have a fast bow, but because the other 3 broke or fell off. The lone pin I have is sighted in for 20 yards. I'm pretty good out to 20, but after that it gets ugly fast. I just have to carefully choose my shots. If I get a new bow, the one pin sights would recieve much consideration. I like not having a cluttered sight picture when I get to full draw.

RecurveShooter Joined: 12/16/2001 Location: ND	Shoot the Optizmizer by HHA.. probably one of the brightest single pin sights on the market today... used to shoot multiple pins.. but to take out the confusion with long range shooting as to which pin I need to concentrate on and pull into the peep window.. went with this.. and its very nice!

Not much of a techy bow guy and am fairly new to the sport. gst Said: HHA !!! Good deals on Ebay if you have patience. Get one that is adjustable without an allen wrench.

solocam Joined: 12/02/2005 Location: ND	I have never understood the one pin concept...I have shot bow for many years and have never given a single pin a single thought. I currently shoot the Super 7 by Montana. It has unbelievably bright pins and even in a ground blind. Can you one pin guys give me an advantage with the single pin. I don't have any trouble with long range shooting with the 7 pins. I would definitely not want to be having to adjust it as a deer is passing by me at a different range than I have it set for. There is enough stress when a big one comes around without adding to it by having to adjust for yardage.

Im sure the newer ones are much brighter, which maybe is my problem? Also, size of the pins?
