Hey fellow archers, I'm doing some field testing on a product that has not been released to the public yet but we (the field testers) were asked to get opinions and thoughts from other archers. The product is called the ANO Bracket (all In One Bracket) and comes with a set of legs to form a bipod for the bow. The idea is to provide a lightweight, portable stand for the bow for hunting, range and 3d shooting.

The complete package would contain the following: The ANO Bracket, a wrist sling, 2 legs (which are shortened carbon arrows), 2 inserts and 2 field points to use as feet. Your choice of feet are up to you. Possibilities include bludgeon points, game points, field points, etc...

What you would need to do is, determine how long the legs need to be and cut them  with a standard arrow saw. Once they are cut, glue the included inserts into the bottom of each leg.

Next, install the ANO Bracket on the bow. It installs between the riser and the stabilizer. The ANO Bracket is machined aluminum and everything combined is very lightweight. With everything on the bow, I do not notice any change in balance when holding the bow. Will be doing some shooting tests next.


 





Next install your wrist sling. There are set screws on the ANO bracket that will need to be backed out.

 

 

Once the sling is in place, tighten the set screws.

Screw on the legs and install your choice of feet for the legs.
 






Once you remove your legs, you can screw the two pieces together to form one piece.

And the combined set of legs, should fit in most quivers.


I would like to get your honest opinions on the product, what you like and don't like.

Also, what do you think a fair price would be for this product. I'm not displaying their suggested price at this time as I would like to get your honest opinions.

It also looks like they may offer each component individually where you could use your own wrist sling and your own arrows for the legs.

 I made something similar a few years ago. Made one that attaced and didnt like so I made one that quick disconnected to the stablilizer. I hunt on the ground a lot and thought it would be a cool idea. I am back to just laying the bow down. It was a hassle and I did not like the cam on the ground.

i like the bracket for the sling a lot better than the leather ones. but as far as the bi-pod it seems as it would be a lot more work to attach the "legs" to stand it during a 3d shoot than the plastic thing that does the same job. secondly for a hunting rig it seems as it is more stuff to get caught in the grass/on the blind and really serves no purpose in a tree.

take it for what it is worth i am no expert and hunters/shooters are consumers that gobble up millions of dollars worth of gadgets and gizmos a year. but i think you would do better selling the brackets and slings.

this is going to be a ground blind hunters item and a range shooting item,  not much use for it in a tree stand. it's definately interesting and not a bad idea, but i must agree with kzz, not sure how big of a fan i am of having my cam digging into the ground... yes this can be easily bypassed by bringing a piece of scrap carpet or something with to let the cam rest on, but as far as i'm concerned the less that i have to remember to carry into the blind with me the better...  one thing i would like to know is how much does the whole setup weigh?  is there any extra noise while shooting due to the bracket that gets mounted to the bow?  i could see this being a very handy stand for shooting at the range and i myself would probably pay up to $30 for it,  if it wasn't so simple to make your own i would say charge more but since it's a fairly simple do it yourself build i think that if you charge too much a lot of  people will just resort to building their own... also i think that if they had a kit with precut "legs" for all the different "popular" bow models out there and then just have one generic kit requireing slight modification for those bows that aren't covered by the precut kits, they could probably charge more..

I think its a great idea.

This is something a guy could leave attached to the bow while shooting and be able to set the bow down without worrying about putting the bow pod (plasic stand currently on the market) on the limb.

Secondly this wouldn't chew the limb up like the bow pod does.

Here is my suggestion to helping this product out......MANY target archers will use a V-bar to attach side stabilizers to the bow. These V-bars commonly attach to the front stabilizer mount, in between the bow and stab.  Many Hoyts need to do this as they don't have a rear stabilizer mount. Other bows out there need it as well. SOoooo.....what I would suggest you do is....take a look at some of the better V-bars on the market, if you want to PM me I will give you the heads up on which ones are good and which ones are not, and incorporate this system so one can use side bars as well as the stand.  OR offer two different models.

I'm not sure on the actual weight yet. I just got it yesterday and got it set up tonight.  I need to do some shooting tests to see if any issues come up. 

I'll dig out my scale this weekend and see what it shows for weight.

I've thought the cam digging into the ground too and I'm not sure what to think on that yet.  Definetly for the ground blind hunter and not for a treestand hunter.

Basic holding of the bow like I would for shooting, I notice no difference in the balance so far.

One thing this would have prevented from happening to me this year, was I had to lay my bow down and we had snow on the ground. It was just warm enough to melt it as well.  I got the snow off once I got in my blind but there was still some water somewhere and it when the temp started dropping and something froze up on me.  I had a nice doe come in and went to draw back and all I heard was ice cracking.  oops.

I should have put the bow in the blind where there wasn't any snow but didn't think of it. Oh well, lesson learned.

Thought of it getting caught in the grass and what not too.  Yep, it would be another item to do that. However, in a spot and stalk type, I more than likely wouldn't have the legs on the bow.  However, in a ground blind, any grass in there is usually matted down pretty good so I'm not sure if would be a problem in there.

Unless you are putting your cam into mud or something like sticky dirt...if that is such a thing.....you don't need to worry about your cam "digging into the ground".  I use my bow pod on my hunting bows in the blind, and leave the cam right on the ground all the time.

I also have just set my target bows on the ground using the front stabilizer as a rest so the cam is on the ground....no worries.

Ok, I dug out my scale and the ANO Bracket, Legs, 100gr bludgeon points and the wrist sling weigh approximately 4 ounces.

Well, I hate to say it but this is something that is easily made with a block of wood and a couple of broken arrow shafts. It is definately a nice concept but I can't imagine that the retail would be that high considering most people can replicate this with a drill and a few broken parts laying around. Anybody that shoots carbon arrows has a few broken or outdated shafts laying around.

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and say at most $19.99. If your including the sling maybe $34.99 depending on the quality of the material and weave of the sling.

The wrist sling is made with military grade paracord and are custom made with the colors of your choice and this one is a cobra braid. I'll get some close up pictures of the sling later today.

From what I've seen, they are offering the sling for 15 which falls in line with most of the other places I've seen that are selling the same type of braided sling.

As for using a block of wood instead, yeah you could BUT I think if you try to replicate the size of this bracket, you'll end up with a block of wood that is very weak and prone to splitting and cracking. You won't have near the strength that the aluminum bracket offers.

As for using your own arrows/wrist sling - yep that may be a possibility with this product as well.  In the documentation I was given, they do discuss it.

 To me, it looks like the answer to a question that nobody asked. In a hunting situation, I can't think of a practical use for it as that is not how I would want my bow to sit in a ground blind. At the range, you should be able to find something slid to lay your bow down or hang it. Sorry man, not for me.

Kzz - I plan on heading to the archery range sunday to do some shooting tests. Vibration, noise and balance of my bow are all things I will be testing for.

on one of those wire thingies that stick in the ground. they work great and do not impinge on the minimal space is the blind.

again i would be interested in a cammo bracket for the sling only, but not in the lost camo,but MO treestand.

do the brackets come in dif camo patterns?
