Pope and Young Club recognizes three new World Record's

A record number of over 1200 bow hunters filled the banquet hall this past weekend for the 50th Anniversary of the Pope and Young Club. During the 27th Recording period, (2009-2010), three new world’s record animals were recognized and the exhibit hall was filled with trophies that we all dream of.
Here are those new world records.
Real Langlois’ World Record Yukon Canadian Moose. This moose scored 249 1/8 and was taken in the Yukon in 2008.
Nathan LaCost harvested the World Record Non-typical Coues’ deer that scores 127 1/8 and was taken in Gila County, Arizona.
George Harm traveled to Hermosillo, Mexico to harvest the new World Record Mule deer . This mule scored a whooping 205 0/8”.

This convention takes place every two years and top scoring animals are called back to be panel scored and are on display for all to see. The displays are mesmerizing, from huge sheep, monster elk and moose to petite hot weather coues’ deer and frozen tundra musk ox. Each leaves your imagination running wild of what it would be like drawing down on such a trophy.

The days are filled with seminars and you get the chance to meet old acquaintances and establishing new ones and the convention gives you a chance to shake hands with bow hunting legends such as Jim Dougherty, G. Fred Asbell, Dr, Dave Samuel, M. R. James and Wayne Carlton. You get the chance to meet and talk with industry leaders such as Tom Nelson, Randy Ulmer, Fred Eichler, Tom Miranda, Dwight Schuh and North Dakota’s own Curt Wells plus many others. And of course, see the top scoring bow killed animals take in the last two years.
I would encourage anyone whom ever gets a chance to attend one of these conventions to do so. The friends you make and people you meet will once again solidify why bow hunting is such a great sport.
