Here's the story I got, guess we'll have to wait to see if its true. I take all these with a grain of salt with all the high fence stuff posted all the time.

This was sent into B&C with the info below
Subject: MN Elk

Its green score is 456 4/8 NT net. Its gross score is 475 5/8. He has 78 6/8" of mass.
He is a wild MN elk that flipped upside down jumping a barbed wire fence on state land in Northern MN. His antlers stuck in the ground and been there a couple of hours. Ryan Muirhead while muzzleloader hunting and found him, he got help to flip him back, and the elk walked away. It was
25 below wind chill at this time. Two days later he went to see if it made it, but found it 600 yards away still alive. It died shortly later and was given to the Game warden who a week later gave it back to him.

Can't get the darn pics to post...

this story is absolutely true, im not sure on the actual measured scores but as far as the elk jumping the fence and getting stuck upside down i was there and watched and video taped while the guys flipped him over. the people i was staying with that weekend saw that bull and 8 others about an hour earlier out in some pasture and then ryan and his party found the bull upside down in the ditch. it was the craziest thing ive ever seen and from what we had guessed that morning we figured the bull had to go at least 430 or more. i do have some pictures that i will try to upload but as im new to the site it might take me a bit .

Caribou but lancaster is close enough. I have pictures of it tangled in the fence and the rack being pryed out of the ground with 2x4's. Would amazing being that close to him when he was alive!

Figured it was in that area, know where Caribou is as well.  We have seen elk in both areas in past years.

Can't imagine seeing first hand, bet the adrenaline was running a little higher than normal!

Thanks
