Photo Description:

What a year. After 43 days of hunting one buck I finally was able to close the deal. Thinking back over the year I recall all the close calls. The 3 times I had him under 100 yards in full velvet only to be busted. The day I had him at 80 yards from my ground blind as he was walking straight at me only to be winded by a doe. The many days I never laid eyes on him. For the 1st time in my life I have been able to watch this buck turn into a giant. It all started 4 years ago when late in December I was looking over deer that made the year. I found in the spotting scope a small racked buck with triple brows. He was young but I was shocked at his body. He needed to go on a diet and at that very moment a name popped into my head. Jenny Craig!!!! Over the next 3 years Jenny would slip threw season unscaved and go from a 110 inch buck to right around 140 last year. Always haveing a triple brow on one side and a sticker off the brow on the other. I found his shed last year from his left side. I got my first good look at him this year in early June. Threw the spotting scope I noticed something wierd going on at his base. It appeared to be a long tine coming out. By early August he had put on a rather large 5x5 frame as well. I fell in love with him and set my sights on him. He was hitting our food plot hard all month and I felt my chances to arrow him were high. After 30 plus days I was doubting my abilities. Gun season had now started and I couldn't even find him. Just days into rifle season I decided to check a new spot for him and just minutes into the sit I found myself settling the cross hairs of my rifle on a different buck that would push boone. At 276 yards down hill I let my gun eat and eat and eat! After every shot the buck would run 10 feet and stop. 4 misses and I just sat there scratching my head. Did that just happen??? I was in shock. I tucked my tail and got back to hunting. I would lay my eyes on Jenny a couple more times but things woudn't work out. Finally last Wensday I caught Jenny crusing for does and was able sneak ahead of him and wait. It would take him 20 minutes but he would close to 124 yards while chasing a mule deer doe. I aimed for the high shoulder and ended the life of a true monarch were he stood. It was finally over. He looked like a hippo with horns laying there. Never in my life have I ever seen a buck like this. A true tank. We pulled a tight tape around his neck and got just over 34" just below his jaw. He didn't lack in the horn area either. He was just about what I thought all year. He has about a 2-3" extra brow broke off. He has an extra horn growing out of the side of his head. He has good mass, great beams, and a good solid 5x5 typical score topped by 10" of junk. This is truely my favorite buck I've ever killed. It was fun to watch Jenny grow and fun to watch him go. I can't wait to look at him on my wall for years to come.

Head on you can see the size of his face, neck, and body.

Here you can see his extra horn it's 8" long.  It had hair growing between it and the base of the other horn.
Dead animals don't need fur anyway!!!!!!!!!!

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?
